In honor of Cesarean Awareness Month, we’re sharing a video that’s gone viral recently for helping inform the public about C-sections. Mom, blogger and cesarean awareness advocate, Jesse Franks’ inspiration came from a similar video by Natural Abundance. Using a stack of felt and some strategically placed cuts, Jess walks us through what happens in a C-section birth.

While its safe to say that most moms don’t plan for a C-section, your birth education should include learning about Cesarean birth too. You can’t know for certain how your birth will unfold, after all.

What’s great about this video is its approachability. You can watch and learn a little bit about what the surgery looks like without getting the gory imagery. It also sheds some awareness on the complexity of this procedure in a way that is more easy to understand.
